11/8/11 I HOPE THE ISO SAFE HER LIFE....
Posted By: Abdullah Chek Sahamat - August 21, 2011This morning, though I want to stay a bit longer in my Kampung to supervise my workers to do some farming and gardening works, my heart urged me to rush back to town the earliest. After a kissed from my two young nephews, I just droved off fast. On reaching a nearby place called Sampun, a group of people seem gathering by the road side. I slowed down, and saw a person lying flat on the road. A pool of blood spread nearby.
(2) An old lady was knocked off by a motorist. By age probably she was about 50++, but physically, she looks 60-70s. Thin, weak, old. She was bleeding badly. Her mouth was full of blood. I believe, she must be suffering from internal injuries. I tried to queery, what had happened? No one seem able to give any detail clue. No relative or people who really knew her was around.
(3) More and more passerby stopped by. I tried to get few people there to give calls either to the police or hospital. One person managed to get in touch with the Kuching GH. He passed me the phone, and I requested the hosipital to assist to get medical personnel to help or at least send over an ambulance especially either from Asajaya or Sadong Jaya. To my ennoyment, the person replied: "Do you know the Asajaya or Sadong Jaya Polyclinic phone number?". My reply to him was simple and sharp:"If I know the numbers, I won't be wasting my stupid time calling you! Can't you think?".
(4) Realising that help won't come fast as the lady seem having difficulty to breath, I requested if anybody could call the Asajaya Police Station. A person mamaged to pass me a line, thus I explanned: "Ada seorang perempuan tua kena langar. Dia parah. Minta polis datang segera untuk berikan bantuan. Saya tak tahu butiran kejadian. Saya hanya lalu dan cuba membantu. Minta datang segera"
(5) Nonetheless, again, I have real stupid and unecessary enggagement with the police: "Boleh Encik terangkan bagaimana kejadian itu berlaku? Dia berlangar dengan apa? Berapa orang terlibat? Bagaimana keadaan mangsa?.....". Surely my reply is though military style: "Why are you wasting this nonsense time? I already said, I know nothing, I just stopped to help. Why don't you just drive over and give the help first rather all those stupid procedures....are you coming or not?"
(6) But then, I realised, if I have to wait, she will be suffering a hell. The day is becoming hotter. She still lying on the tarmac. I pushed another lady, whom seem to know her to help me to take her to the Sadong Jaya Polyclinic. I later requested who ever knew her to give a call to the family members and inform them accordingly. I just rushed the lady to Sadong jaya at full speed. Reaching the Polyclinic, I have to look for the incharge guy at his quarter.
(7) Two personnel come over, and one have a chick to say:"Why are you taking her here? Why not just take her to Asajaya? That would be nearer". Though that might be a good suggestion, but how on earth he would know for me to get to the Asajaya Clinic faster. I'm alient to the Clinic. Nonetheless I passed a softer remark to him:"Why not you just take care of the lady. She need more attention then those great suggestion". I passed him my business card in case further querry needed. He looked at it, then quickly do his work. At least my business card give him some sense of urgency. I left the polyclinic when some of her relative began to arrive. And interestingly, I was told she is a mother to the police personnel who serves the Asajaya Station. On my way off, I saw a police car drove in, and I wonder, I hope actually, the police who drove the car is the son of the lady, and I hope he had learned his lesson on the beauty of a stupid ISO could do!
(8) The lady I believe, must be a resident nearby. A lady farmer. She probably just want to go to her nearby farm to collect anything that could make a ringgit. Unaccompanied. Probably, an old folk, among many others, left by their growing and life struggling kids. Now she is struggling for the life which I won't know what would be her fate. I do hope she will make it.
(9) I wonder, in time of emergency, this is how critical agencies are handling those emergency cases. ISO seem to be used as the best reason to delay the emergency respond as it should be. So what good can ISO do in this sense?
(10) Driving back to town, in fact I was disturbed by the accident, how people just circling around, looking, wondering rather thinking and work out fast to solve the problem in hands. I wonder if disaster come to being, how could we survive? Worst the smell of the lady, the blood, really push me to drive even faster to get a clean up. Luckily I have Unggu and Wali to accompany me, of which one of the song that keep me cool was: percaya Padaku which in the next enteries, I dedicated the song to someone I love to be with.
