2/2/11 THE TEARS OF PROPHET YUSUF
Posted By: Abdullah Chek Sahamat - February 02, 2011Once I met a friend whom just came back from serving in Egypt. My simple question to him was, how is that Great Ancient Nation of Egypt? His answer was very discouraging:dangerous, dishonest, rampant poverty, social disorder, etc. My next question was, how come this Nation never learn and not progressing better? They were once Great Nation. They were once well respected Nation.
(2) If one look at the history, one will surely remember personalities such as the Pharaoh whom not only was the King but as well as the God of Egypt. Later Allah, knowing well, the potential of over autocratic would be the Pharaoh, He gave birth to Prophet Yusuf whom not only would help to ease the Egyptians from the cruelty and depression of the Pharaoh over his subjects, but Yusuf himself was also the most brilliant man that the Pharaoh had to manage his administration, the nation wealth, probably today equivalent to the Minister of Finance and or Minister of Economic Development.
(3) Later as Egypt prosper with the modernization of the irrigation system, Allah brought drought to the whole of the Arabian Peninsular, that forced the Jews to migrate to Egypt. The presence of the Jews later definitely infused the hard, diligent, determine, etc spirit of these new race among the Egyptians. The Jews in fact brought and expand the business and trading skills among the Egyptians.
(4) Not only the Jews were great in business, but most important, through the Jews, I would believe, Allah purposely sent this race, whom by characters were determine and hard headed especially in upholding to monotheism, the believe in One God and not submitting themselves to the Pharaoh as the God. Allah want to tell the suffering Egyptian to stand to their feet, but they dare not!
(5) The Jews bred well while in Egypt. Their number, originally was only few hundred, multiplied to few hundred of thousands. As such later, they became greedy to monopolize the economy of the Egyptian. Plus their monotheism believe which antagonized the Pharaoh, definitely later triggered the hatred of the Egyptian King to this race and thus subject them to various cruelty and torture. We know later, Allah send prophet Musa to take the Jews back to safety. The stubborn, deaf and blind Egyptian didn't get Allah signal from this tragedy, instead they felt proud for able to oust the Jews.
(6) As time passed by, Egypt continued to prosper with succession of better leaderships such giving birth to a great leader such as Cleopatra. The influence of Egyptian Civilization later crossed over the Mediterranean into Rome and there on to the further West and East. Egypt managed to fuse both the Roman and Persian civilization into a Greater Civilization and Greater Nation.
(7) The Romance between Cleopatra and Julius Caser and later Mark Anthony of Rome, and earlier the Jews during the Pharaoh period, were a symbol of how Egypt easily embarrassed and giving in to other alien cultures and systems. In order word, in the Malay word, the Egyptian were easily kena kuda (used) by others, though History Textbook put it nicely differently!
(8) Unfortunate, since once they were Great Nation, they can't read those clearly. Not only they don't accept the fact that they have and continue being used, but they also refused and continue to refuse to see and admit the other civilization, other better cultures and systems which are much better and they must change accordingly. In the Malay word: the Egyptian in fact is a Nation of Bodoh Sombong!
(9) Once Allah gave them Yusuf, a brilliant, honest and kind-hearted prophet, yet they refused and cowardly submitting themselves to the slavery of the Pharaoh. Then Allah sent them the Jews to learn, again they refused and continue to live in the complacent easy-loose-colorful lifestyle which placed them continuously into slavery. Basically, the Egyptians are stubborn, blind, and deaf people that can't see how Allah had tried to help them to be greater and better!
(10) When Islam was born in the 7th Century, and later to the far sighted of the Khalifah, capitalization on the accumulation of the wealth of knowledge, the Madrasah of Al-Azhar and later transformed into a University, which is among the world oldest University, was established, yet Cairo never change. Islam never being well absorbed and practiced as true teaching. They are just as stubborn, blind and deaf as the Jews to continue to mixed up religion and tradition and uphold much to the barbaric Arabian cultures and values. The Egypt remain as the Bodoh Sombong. They can't see how Allah had love this soil and had made all sort of assistance to make them great.
(11) The opening of the Suez Canal in the 1960s was the starting point of the 'Modern' Egypt abused of the West especially the American (the Jews) to this day. Today Egyptians, just like their Great Leader, Cleopatra, love to be screwed and free-flesh ride by the West especially the American (and Israel). History seem to repeat.
(12) The current chaotic in Egypt, is in fact a blessing. I believe, Allah one again want to save and would like to see Egypt to be a great nation again. I would believe the current chaotic is to make the Egyptian to be able to see who are their true friends and enemy either domestically and externally. I hope, the blood that had began to spill over the Pharaoh-Yusuf land would make them realise how Allah love them so much, but just they are to Bodoh Sombong!
(13) I have no doubt, the American and Israel definitely would spent as much money as possible to buy in 'friends' in the current Egyptian crisis. Either they will continue to defense Mubarak or they would sponsored another Mubarak. But who to blame?
(14) I believe, this is a great example that Allah would want us to learn, for the Muslims all over the world and in Malaysia in particular. When we have becoming too individualistic, we tend to be damply greedy and stingy to protect our interest. The welfare of the community will never be our concern. We become so coward to stand for the truth. We love to remain even as a slave to protect our interest. But, as Allah had promised: Just a matter of time, we will pay for our coward and greedy attitude. The Egyptian, the Yamani, the Jordanian began to face it.
