9/12/13 MAHATHIR'S ANALYST MIND, NAJIB'S POPULIST ATTITUDE....? (DRAFT)

There was my kid's days story of a dog, which hate to see a face of another dog. One day, in his long hungry day search, he found a bone. Though was deadly hungry, he took the bone on a long walk to avoid from being with other dog(s). On his walk, he crossed a drain. A clear, calm water fill drain. Unfortunately, as he crossed and looking down the drain, he saw another dog was trailing him in the water, thus he got very upset and began to bark. Surely his bone dropped and shook the calm water and that made the other dog to disappear. He was happy for being able to shoo the dog away, without realizing, he was indeed barking at his own image, shadow and he lost his bone. In my school days, my teacher told me not to be greedy and prejudice of others and as a person we must make friend and be generous across multitude whatever social stratum. That was the morale of the story at those day, but it should be more as of today.

(2) Of late when I opened CheDet. blog, I was indeed puzzle over his definition of the Mind of the Analyst. To Mahathir, the analyst is among the cleverest man, as he can see beyond what he can see. Specifically, Mahathir claimed, for those who works at a local popular Tabloid, abused those clever mind for power corrupt. To me among those who really hate Mahathir was due to the accusation of his interference in the judicial matter of which among others was said to amounting the removal of certain judicial figures. Mahathir was indeed being accused to cross the bride of separation of the Power of the Democratic Principle, and that was to this day seem to be his landmark of iron fist, autocratic leadership. But the truth, as in many cases as well as being revealed to us by Muhammad SAW over 1,400 years ago: In the name of Moment, everyone will be in a lost, except those who uphold to Iman and doing good deed...

(3) In this Country, we need lots of Analyst Mind but not as what Mahathir had been claiming. We need the Analyst Mind of those who uphold to their Iman and Good Deed values. In the Islamic history, among those whom are having great Analyst Mind I would say were Ibnu Khaldum, Ibnu Sina, etc and sure the greatest was Muhammad SAW himself which later translated into greater act by Umar Al Khataab. Without their Analyst Mind, Islam wouldn't out reached far fetch to every corner of the earth as it is today. In the sense of the Analyst Mind of these great Islamic figures, I can't agree that Analyst Mind seem to be a great tool to power corrupt as Mahathir had claimed. Only those without a clear Iman would fall into the category of Power Corrupt Analyst Mind. Indeed the Analyst Mind are the great strategies, be it in whatever field. In this Country, as time goes by, especially among the Malays, we are indeed walking to the desert of no analyst mind.

(4) Couple of weeks ago, I was listening to the National News Broadcast. I came across Najib, the Prime Minister sort of shouting that he is not running the State on Popular-based Governance. He said, he refused to choose such approach for it would make the State go bankrupt. He seem to speak with anger. He spoke to the height of his voice. But one thing probably not many see (and or analyse), Najib hand keeps wiping his lips as he speaks. Wiping his lips not the respectful traditional Malays' style. Probably his maids if not his wife, had forgotten to place a handkerchief into his pocket for his mouth wiping purposes. If ones used to watch the American media commentary on Reading the President Body Language at the American Presidency Election Campaign sure such act would mean lots of deception thought. Indeed the Psycho-Mind Analyst would have 1,001s interpretation of Najib's frequent mouth wiping with his hand at his speech. To me, what is indeed Najib's KPI (as he love this jargon) for a Popular Governance? If his benchmark of a Popular Governance KPIs are as those outlined by Anwar Ibrahim and his gang especially during the last General Election Campaign (GE13), than I would say, Najib is just a Reactionist. Indeed being a reactionist is the act of a populist. Populist love to be reactionist. Reactionist makes one Popular, a Populist.

(5) Let me walk readers to Najib's some immediate acts of reactionist. First, I would believe not long after his speech he announced the increase of BR1M. Now, long November-December Year End Holidays is ending, Christmas is coming, New Year Back-to-School is coming as well as the Chinese New Year. What are the popular plight of the Rakyat at this point in time? Money. The Rakyat need extra money. So BR1M dishing and increased is timely. BR1M is now to cover those family income that is below RM4,000.00/month. Najib seem not educating the Rakyat to the very principle of prophet Yusuf AS for the salvage of Egypt from a long economic distress. He knew, there might be a long economic distress in the region as well globally a head, but he refused to look at Yusuf AS economic principles. Najib chose the popular, reactionist rather the hard long term non-popular route in advancinbg the people purchasing power. He chose a popular Santa Claus Give Out. To me I salute Wahid Omar action for planning the 11th Malaysia Plan, eighteen months a head of the time with the help of Asian Development Bank (ADB). Sure many applaud Najib for Wahid's Analyst Mind, but to me with the presence of ADB in the exercise, indeed it signifies Wahid's worries over the State future economic fate. To me as a stop gate measure, Najib's purposely decepting the mind of the Rakyat over the long term National Economic Issues, and move with a popular reactionist mind dishing out peanut to please the Rakyat temporally. The issues is such temporal populist measures cost the Nation billions of Ringgit wastefully.

(6) Secondly, as the Year-End, and New-Year is coming, in Malaysia, the celebration of this period is always marks by the Heavy Monsoon Downfall. This year, especially in November-December, Sarawak seem to be spared from flooding, but not necessarily be the case untill February next year. Pahang, Trengganu, Kelantan and Johor seem to be the states that are hard hit by flooding. Sure as a caring government, Najib timely declared the RM500.00 support to those flood victims. As Muslim Malays, especially the principle of rezeki jangan ditolak, maut jangan dicari almost all accepted the Government assistance with open hands. The State Government did also made immediate helps. I have no quarrel over this disaster assistance, but what is Najib's next long term action to this flooding issues. True, flooding is from Allah, and nothing is not from Allah, but didn't Allah had equiped humankind with brain and heart to have an Analyst Mind? Did Allah not remind humankind that He change nothing for them except by their very own hands? To put flood as and excuse of Allah's deed is indeed a popular tune to the Malays acceptance of fate. It is a populist act, in tune to the Malays popular characters. In the old days, Abdul Razak Husein will flew in with his men to the flood pronge areas. He studied. He ordered. Thus KEMUBU, MUDA, KADA, MADA, as well as FELDA, FELCRA, RISDA, UDA etc where then established and at his closed observation to relieve the rakyat plight. He dare to take all the unpopular measures for the good of the Country. Abdul Razak Husein indeed took all the unpopular steps to make him popular that Najib read shallowly. Najaib love to revisit Razak visiting places, but did his visit last? He indeed love to trail Razak's popular gesture but not his unpopular turning around.

(7) Sure those are minor examples of Najib's populist attitude which he denied based on his benchmarking to Anwar's  popular proposals. Najib chose to be popular to de-popularised Anwar. Is Anwar that matter or the Rakyat long term interest that count. Let look at what the present popular Capitalist demand of a Good Governance. Liberalism is a Capitalist popular demand of anything. This demand is not binding to the founding State of Capitalism but must be complied by others. Anwar is seen by the West to be friendly to the Capitalist notions. Najib submits himself to these populist demands, to make himself popular among the West especially the American and British.  See how liberal has he been since he took over from Abdullah Badhawi. ISA abolished. Subsidies curtailed. Debt controlled. Interest rate, he moves with the globe. Capital flow, liberated. Malaysian sky is now much cleared from all the cloud. Let now see how those liberation had turned senjata makan tuan to the Malays especially if not to the Nation. Our economy is now turning into consumer economy rather production economy which in Islam is the economy of recieveing rather the economy of giving. Najib is now trapped by all those non-analytical populist mind decisions. And the next danger, he might adopt My Way atitude as his next governing style. If such is happening, the Malays I would call to critically understand the psycho that Allah had implied through Abraham AS called to Ismael AS to change his door upon observing his daughter in-law popular woman attitude, complaining of hardship. I do hope, the Analyst Mind will always Allah keeps flowing in the mind of the Malays, and they must have the courage to say and do what is right in the eyes of Islam. InsyaAllah.
